fix
wow, after what seems like not posting anything for ages, i go ahead and post 3 things in one day. crikey.
well, despite the patient's best intentions, i succumbed to the urge and hurried down to fopp and bought some cds.
johnny cash at san quentin
dj shadow - endtroducing...
nick cave - nocturama, tender prey, & let love in
pil - metal box
for all those that are interested.
admittedly save johnny cash, these won't be getting played at parties. but i love 'em, and they were only a fiver each. cheap at half the price.
the collection is looking good again......for now.
the exorcist dude!
so i went to see constantine the other night. not a classic by any means, but still worth a trip to your local multiplex. for those of you who don't know, keanu reeves plays a demon hunter out to stop the son of beelzeebub from reaching our plane. it's based on a british comic book called hellblazer, in which the main character is a londonlivingvitriolicchainsmokingblondehairedscouser.
you may see certain elements at this point which the boy reeves lacks to portray this character.
however, i've never read the comic book, so quite frankly i couldn't give a toss. he actually pulls off a decent performance. definitely the best potential franchise he's had since bill and ted.
what? i'm not counting the matrix. that was pap.
right this is all getting a bit geeky, time for a sharp exit.
clickwheel
i'm sure i don't need to tell you this, but the ipod is the greatest invention ever. fact. after years of trying to kill myself by changing cds in the cd car kit. i decided that safety was paramount, and that the ipod is the future.
the only problem is that i underestimated how long it would take to transfer my vast cd collection. 5 days later, and i'm still at it! it's also made me realise it's still far from the perfect collection. new purchases will have to be made. all of which means i'll still probably be at it in a weeks time.
still, it feels good to lug about something the size of a fag packet, rather than the rucksack of cds i usually carry around...
hindsight
well, judging by last night's posting, i was pretty pissed. thankfully not as pissed as a friend of mine who left an (accidental) message on the phone at 1.20am this morning.
we'll call him "prummer" to protect the innocent.
anyhow, the tournament was fun while it lasted, and the liver has time to re-couperate in time for the next excuse to venture into the beer stained landscape of edinburgh's pubs.
temperance suddenly holds some appeal.
