wires

In a tradition that goes back, ooh, two years, i'm compiling a cd of tracks that shaped my year. It's a fine art picking songs that both mean something to you, and yet should connect to those listening to it. The running order is important as well, just pasting the tracks in randomly is not enough. It should stand up as an album in itself. I find it quite enjoyable.

There's also the matter of writing a summation of the tracks, perhaps dropping in a little fact learned in Q about the song, perhaps even where you were when you first heard it. Whilst thinking this over today, I started to review the year.

Now, if you've read this blog before, or indeed know me, you'll know that i'm quite a reflective person. I've always liked the idea of a "Year Zero" approach to things, plowing ahead, forgetting the past whilst trying to forge a bright future. However, the closer it gets to xmas/new year, the more relflective I get. It annoys me no end, quite frankly, but there you have it.

Actually, I've no idea where i'm heading with this, & i'm not feeling too "open" tonight. Time for a brew and a think.

It's nice to see you taking your album of the year duties responsibly!
I look forward to reading your notes, think I've gone a bit overboard with mine.......
