Envy

Is introducing a green tax in a rainy little island in the north of europe going to save the planet.

Is it baws.

Indeed, there was a stat on the news tonight about how there's a coal fired power station opening in China every ten days. The Chinese government believes that introducing emission restrictions will harm economic growth at a time when it's shooting ahead of everywhere else. The same goes for India, where increasing wealth means that people want the same things that pollute as the industrialised world has been using for years.

It ranks as hypocritical to say that we should reduce emissions in the hope that other nations will follow suit, considering we've done our fair bit to fuck up the planet over the past 150 years. The words "horse" "stable door" and "bolted" come to mind some how.
